Reading for Final Exam:

Your final exam will be Tuesday, December 11 (4:30-7) and will be an in-class essay based on theFrontline episode we watched, which is available online at:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/persuaders/view/

and on the article:
Schroeder, Jonathan E. , "Images in Brand Culture" . GO FIGURE: NEW DIRECTIONS IN ADVERTISING RHETORIC, Barbara J. Phillips, Edward McQuarrie, eds., M.E. Sharpe, 2007 Available at SSRN: http://ssrn.com/abstract=941431

Please be prepared to write an essay that discusses the corporate advertising messages and how they communicate and construct values and beliefs (ideology) and what the impact of those values and messages are on our sense of culture. You may want to explore the Frontline materials further for some ideas on some issues and problems that these messages present for culture. For example, "Persuading the Consumer and the Citizen" offers some food for thought!
