English 101

Caucus assignments are posted directly on the Caucus Center.  Once you see an item posted (by me) you need to post a response.  However, to keep clear on what the assignments actually are and so you can plan ahead on how you will respond, here are the projected assigned topics:

Sept. 3 (You actually should have responded to this assignment on the listserv)
Post a reaction to one of the essays from the reading assignment, or respond to someone else’s reaction.

Sept. 10 (this assignment date has been pushed forward)
Does writing by e-mail change the way we write, what we say, and/or how we say it? Explain.

Why is it important to know something about the author of any given piece?

How do you feel about personal essays? Are they useful? Do you prefer to write a personal essay or a more distanced type of writing? Explain.
