Group Project Update #1

It is important that your groups work consistently throughout the semester and develop a project which will have some "outside of this classroom" purpose.  You need to be determining what your group roles are, what work you need to get done, what your issue is, what your project might look like. To facilitate your working on the project, you have a group update due on October 15.

Your group turns in only one update. Each member is NOT responsible for turning in an individual update. You need to work together as a group to complete the update and turn in one copy to me (via e-mail would be my preference).

The update should be in paragraph form.  Single sentence responses to the questions below will not be adequate.  The more information you come up with now, the further along in the process you will be, and the easier the whole project will be (you will have to trust me on this one!).  Please give me information regarding the following areas of your group-work:

• What have you done to work as a group? Have you decided on "groundrules" for participation and responsibility? Have you met or e-mailed? Do you plan to meet regularly? Have you assigned specific research duties?
• What issue does it look like you are going to address? What things did the group talk about in order to decide on this possible issue?
• What does the group think the final project will be?  Have you discussed possibilities such as a newsletter or website or something else? Describe the possibilities you have considered and which seem most realistic.
