Group Update #2

At this point in the semester, your group needs to have come up with a project and have begun drafting. Do not put this off to the end of the semester. You will be writing your persuasive piece and preparing for the final during the last weeks of class. Even if you as an individual don't mind working under pressure, you have all the members in your group to consider. Be fair and plan ahead.

Group update #2 is designed to ensure that you have finalized your plans, divided the labor, and have begun drafting. You may find that you will use some of what you write for group update #2 in your final rhetorical analysis of the group project.

As a reminder, the group project should be some product designed to address your issue in some way. You have gotten many examples and you are welcome to refer to group update #1 for your classmate's ideas and back to the group assignment page for more examples. In addition to the "product," your group needs to write a rhetorical analysis which explains why you chose the piece you did, what you analyzed your audience to be, what strategies you used to address that audience, and what the goals of the product are. Your group project, worth 100 points, will be graded on the concept and product, the rhetorical analysis, and the presentation of this information to the class on the last two days of class.

For update #2, please submit (preferably by e-mail) a description of what your group is doing for the final project. You will want to make sure to include the following information:

If you need copies or overheads made for the class presentation and you want me to make them for you (sorry, no color copies or brochure folding!), you will need to get the materials to me at least two classes in advance of your presentation.

Please note: this update (like update #1) is posted on the class web page. People all over the world are free to read this stuff. You might want to put a little time and effort into the update to make it a bit more readable than your previous updates. As you can see from update #1 (which is what you sent me verbatim), your superior writing skills were not on display.

Update is DUE November 21, 1997
